Sensor Configurations
Philtec can make custom probes to your specifications.
There are 4 configurations available:
- One Piece System – the fiberoptic cable and sensor tip are potted into the amplifier enclosure. The cable cannot be removed from the electronics.
- Connectorized System – The probe tip and fiberoptic cable is connectorized either with an in-line connector or a amplifier bulkhead mounted connector.
- Vacuum Passthru System – A three piece system comprising an amplifier with fiberoptic cable, a vacuum passthru flange, and a fiberoptic cable with sensor tip for operation in vacuum.
- Extension Cable System – A three piece system comprising an amplifier with fiberoptic cable, a fiberoptic extension cable, and a fiberoptic cable with sensor tip.
Notes. Custom fiberoptic cable systems and tips can be provided using any combination of tip, sheathing and length options. However, there are tradeoffs to consider due to light losses at the connector interfaces, long cable lengths, required frequency response, and dark targets. Use of connectorized fiberoptics with very dark targets is not recommended. Please consult with the factory application engineering team for guidance.
Connectorized sensors will have increased noise levels at least (2 - 3 times higher) than standard datasheet specifications.
